The aim of this study is to ascertain the role of mass media in the campaign against Hiv/Aids in Anambra state. Factors such as media campaigns Aids campaigns message , sexual behaviour and the extent in which the campaigns structures the masses were posed to establish their relieve influence on the entire masses towards Hiv/Aids.
An empirical survey diligently conducted from federal polytechnic Oko, Anambra secretariat complex and Nnamdi Azikwe University Awaka all in Anambra state. Data were analyzed to determine the effect on the mass media campaigns against Aids.
The findings show that media campaigns have been observed to be he quickest means of eradicating he Aids menace, as well as restructure the attitude of the masses through he use of condoms shelling to one partner and avoiding casual sex.

Against this background the state government in conjunction with federal government and other counties of the world through the world Health Organization (WHO) decided to embark on massive campaigns against Aids pandemic in the country with (Anambra state) in particular,
The broadcast media, at its effort to eradicate this deadly scourge which has defied the state government through the state ministry of health in 1986 established the national Aids control programmes in response to public concerns to erased the presence of human immune deficiency syndrome virus (HIV infestation in the state.
Secondly, in response to the evidence and debate on the existence of Aids in the country the then minister of health, professor Olukoye Rason Kuti in 1987 instituted the national expert advisory committee on Aids (NEACA) and was charged with the responsibility of establishing whether or not Aids exist in Nigeria. They also mandated to advice the government as well as drawing up programme strategies and activities to prevent control of HIV infection in our country.
The report from the committee stated that “HIV and AIDS” existed in Nigeria and warned that unless immediate steps are taken to prevent the spread of the diseases the county would be faced with tremendous Health problem, this necessitates the establishment at aids co-coordinating units and twenty one testing facilities in the various states at the federation. Training was conducted to personnel to man these centers.
There was also public enlightenment activates and production at educational materials like poster. handbills pamphlets and books on AIDS. A two weeks workshop was organized by the state ministry of health with the technical assistance from the global propgramme of AIDS (GPA), world bank and other international agencies to address the issue of AIDS in the country.
In March (1990) the national AIDS co-ordinating units had the first “All Nigeria conference on V during which the then vice president admiral Agustus Aikomu (rtd) Launched the maiden edition on the handbook on HIV/ AIDS infection and AIDS for health workers . all these efforts were aimed at affecting possible solution towards cursing AIDS measure in he country and to ensure healthier environment for the populace.
