ABSTRACT
The central aim of any business organization is to make profit and also to own a business of their own. The purpose of this project is to teach goat husbandry to establish and manage a poultry business for easy and local production.
Operator of small scale goat farm is expected to follow keenly the operational methods of marketing strategies and promotional programme for marketing of goat.
Finally, a small scale goat farm is established not only to rear goat but also to maximize profit from farm production.

GENERAL BACKGROUND OF A SMALL SCALE POULTRY BUSINESS.
Today, thinking about Nigerian and theories instantly brings back to memory the agonizing and pitfall sight of kwashiorkor patients in Biafra during the last Nigeria war.
As a matter of fact, the most of Nigerian families are today under fed and under nourished is no longer a secret. It the food and agricultural organization definition (FAO) of a balance clieft is anything to go, by suffice it to say most Nigerians eat just to survive and not because they want to give their bodies the different requirement protein, vitamin minerals etc needed for a healthy body protein.
This is entirely another kettle of fish to most Nigerians who cannot afford one square meal a day to sustain themselves, you should be more like a lunatic when you are heard discussing fish and meat and be it as it may, the food and agricultural organization had recommended a total of about 35 grams of protein in takes a day person. However, there is no gain saying that this is not withstanding, that only very few Nigerians can today afford up to 7.5 grams protein intake per day, a figure credited to 1975 by Lamonde of the National Veterinary Search Institute state. It is pertinent to point out here that this figure (7.5) grams was recommended about twenty five years as when the country was still basking in euphonia of oil boon are equally at a time when the economy and population where not what they are today.
The near disappearance of protein given food in the country is not to say due to its unavailability rather due to unaffordable prices that is attached to them. Suffice it to say therefore, that this is one of the major aim of the research work establishment and management of a small scale Goatry at Alpha Farm Emene Enugu. It is my sole belief that supplementing protein deficiency in our meals not withstanding, it is equal a business that will provide useful employment to the thousands of unemployed in the country.
Unlike other animals of rearing of goats have being in existence as long as creation itself though, there is not yet any clear cut certainly as to when its actual domestication stated goals at about 900-7000 be the success achieved at domesticating goats to such along period now might not be unconnected with the fact they (goat) are small and by nature quite and easy to handle animals.
Delving further into archeological investigation of past civilization goats have been great important to human existence precisely, have been gotten from Fulani, Igbo and some other tribes have revealed that goats have for a long time now served as a source of meat for the human existence. Amongst other bone that have been dung up during past archeological investigation some of the fragment have been identified as belonging to goats through these, have into way been helpful in determining whether or not the animal was domesticated or wild at the time the bone fragments have however pointed to the fact that goats have for long now been useful to the human existence.
Following the present trend in our economy today, whose the Nigerians faced by galloping inflation of the worst magnitude has turned into a mere tissue paper, thereby making it difficult for the average Nigerian to have enough protein intake (especially meat) in his daily meals it becomes all the more important / to look for ways of salvaging this ugly term hence my bold, step in researcher into ways of stepping up the quantity or rather amount of protein available for the intake of the average Nigerian in his meals through the establishment and management of a small scale Goatry at Alpha Farm.
Furthermore, it is my intention through this research to explain the husbandry of goats to layman in a simple and easy to learn from there by encouraging a lot of people to go into worthy venture
The Establishment and Management of a Small Scale Poultry at business is not only a fidicious task but also time and money consuming venture. Apart from the foregoing the project work will among other thing will be concerned with addressing such issue as.
A study of the possibility or otherwise of establishing a small scale business of this kind.
The financial involvement of the venture with regards to provision of all the relevant facilities conducive for rearing goats.
The management of both man and material resources to achieve the desired objective . this very much depends on the entrepreneurs. Wealth of experience in the field or his ability to employ and or engage those with such acclaim experience.
The project will also contend such issues as environmental government. Policy and the marketability or other wise of the end product. The forgoing issue if well addressed will create an enabling situation which can serve as a reference point to may would be a goat farmers.
As earlier mentioned see(1.2) one of the arms of this research work is to teach goat husbandry to the average layman in easy to understand manner hence the effort of this research would be complete it fail to point our or emulate the very main gain that one stands to reap from .
